The visual motif and the fashion film are a wrap, the Spring/Summer 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin is in full swing – this is the time of the year when hordes of journalists descend on Berlin to soak up everything fashion-related. For many of them, the annual Mercedes-Benz media brunch is a must. This season, Lüder Fromm, Director of Global Marketing Communication for Mercedes-Benz Cars, has an exciting story to tell of alien galaxies and grand larceny. It relates, of course, to this year’s visual motif, which is based on Mario Testino’s concept. In this, Joan Smalls plays an intergalactic beauty who discovers the treasures of this world and takes her favorite – the CLS – back to her own world.
The model and the star photographer Mario Testino also had brunch in the Mercedes-Benz Lounge and held a Q&A session with journalists. This is where we found out that Joan Smalls has been in Berlin before but never had a look around the city – something that she now wants to remedy. We look forward to seeing what treasures she discovers in our capital city.
