Books are cool: design talent Steven Tai delighted his audience at the Spring/Summer 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin with his extravagant collection celebrating nerdiness. “Book freaks and their silhouettes” is how the up-and-coming Canadian designer describes this collection. Sending his models down the catwalk wearing geek glasses and carrying thick books, he presented his mainly beige/brown creations, which play with artificial volumes and unusual silhouettes. Every single piece in the collection reflects the inspiration that Tai has gotten from fashion icons like Comme des Garçons and Yohji Yamamoto.
