Stylish as ever, Berlin’s 11th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ended with a group show of up-and-coming Italian designers. It was a fitting conclusion – the popular fashion event is becoming more and more international from season to season: the 50-plus designers who present their collections in Berlin hail from a number of countries including Belgium, China, Germany, Italy, Canada, Luxembourg, Austria, Romania, Sweden and Turkey. Some of the trade visitors came from even further afield, traveling from Australia, Brazil and Korea to name just a few countries.
The fashion displayed for this season is not only “of the world” but is also wearable. “Trade visitors praised the saleability of the collections, which is extremely good feedback,” says Peter Levy, Managing Director and Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion Worldwide. “The designs have lost none of their creativity but are still produced with the commercial market and customers in mind – exactly as it should be.” While we will enjoy wearing the current collections, we are already looking forward to next season’s fashion, which will be shown in January at the Brandenburg Gate.
